About Claire

Claire's journey toward a more enlightened life and career was accelerated when her husband left her on the day of the 2004 Tsunami. That year had been incredibly conflict-filled and she found herself yearning to break through the darkness to live with more light and love. The amount of inner work and presence Claire is commited to serves as an inspiration to humanity.
Placed up for closed adoption by teenage parents shortly after birth, Claire was raised by a college-educated Texas family. Her entire family of origin passed away in accidental deaths at different times. Her father drowned, her mother of alcoholism, her younger brother in a motorcycle crash after a long struggle with schizophrenia. She also was very involved in the caregiving and transition of her grandmother and in-laws at a young age.
Claire left Texas for for her education. She holds a Bachelor's of Art in Psychology from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. She also earned a Master's of Science in Bilingual Special Education from Bank Street College in New York City. She was a City Naturalist Fellow through a joint program of the Central Park Conservancy and Bank Street College. She is also a Core Essentials Graduate of Coach University having completed their Fast Track Program in San Diego, California and via tele-class. Claire subscribes to the International Coach Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics.
Claire loves to travel, having visited many parts of the United States. She has toured Europe, visited Mayan ruins in Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, spent a summer in Sevilla, Spain, another summer in the former Soviet Union (Russia and Ukraine), and served on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. She visited Haiti in March 2010. Monteverde, Costa Rica is a second home for Claire.
Professionally, Claire has taught young children in the Claremont, New York, Monteverde, and Austin areas. She has mentored and supervised male and female alternative certification candidates age 23-64 throughout Central Texas. She has also worked for local non-profits to mentor teachers, open a wellness clinic, and provide support to families of special needs children. She presented on Biliteracy and Home Reading Programs at the 2000 National Association for Bilingual Education Conference. Claire spoke and gave media interviews about Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) for the Thrive Network from 2002-2008.
Service flows through Claire's life. She volunteers in each of her children's classrooms on a weekly basis. She is a reading tutor through Austin Partners in Education. She volunteers with the Austin Community School. She provided complimentary laser coaching and mentoring sessions at the 2009 Greenlights for Non-Profit Success and Texas Conference for Women as part of the Austin Chapter of the International Coach Federation. She is a member of Riverbend Church's Untitled Community Group. When disaster strikes, Claire is involved in relief efforts, be it hosting hurricane evacuees or relief efforts for Haitian earthquake victims. Claire is honored to serve as part of disaster relief efforts in Haiti during 2010.
Both sets of Claire's grandparents moved to Austin in the 1940s and it has been her home since 1997. She welcomes visitors, newcomers, and other residents whose path she is just begining to cross. From experience comes knowledge.
Claire is the proud single mother of a nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son who surprised us with Down Syndrome shortly after his birth. Two other children were early miscarriages. Claire and the children have a gentleness that radiates pure love and attracts others to it.
Claire loves her clients and the sacredness of their work together. Claire always asks to learn more. Teaching and learning is what runs through the veins of a healer. Learn and then teach, teach and learn. The cirlcle is never-ending. In addition to owning a small business she is active in the community. If you would like a donation of time or service for your charity, just ask. Her mission is to provide life solutions to spiritual problems.
